From Templar Dark Knight:

Fleet is not of issue to us. We are a trade alliance and very peaceful so it is unlikely we will be at war at all. However, military treaties with other alliances serve as a deterrent from aggressors. If we would agree to this then if someone was considering to declare a war, they would have to think twice... in any case. The mutual help can be extended in many ways. For example, if someone would declare a war on you it should be acceptable for me to leave my alliance with one more player (we have only two potential fleeters) to join your alliance during the war. In return if you would send some weaker players that don't want to be in war to my alliance for the time being. This way, there is only one of us at war at a time but by getting rid of weaker none motivated members during the war will decrease the amount of targets available for the aggressor to attack. And the alliance at war would get extra fleeters for support. This is very close to "merging" but if we will work together as i described above, we will be a lot stronger. I hope i did not confuse you too much lol, if i did let me know and i will write out the treaty with more clarity and will post it on my forum for every one to see. Thank you. looking forward to hearing from you.

I think this is acceptable, You all agree? If I get 6 yesses, I will conclude negotiations.

I quite like this idea, but im not huge on changing alliances while this war goes on and fleeters/nonmotivated players or miners get swapped. What kind of time period are we talking here?

The problem with swapping members could leave some smaller members feeling as if they have less worth in the alliance - that they are more hinderances than help.

Ok guys, Look. This would be to keep the lower ranked members out of harm's way. And look. By switching over, the alliance, would be full of people who can fight back, instead of just get hit. Thats what would be nessesary to win the war. WE are not gonna get in a war anytime soon and neither are they. So this won't likely happen. In total seriousness guys, I really think this would be VERY good for our alliance. If you get 10 people who want to modify it, fine, we will.

Guys, I have led you for years. We have never had any real wars, and overall we have prospered. Anything I do is for the good of the alliance. Have I ever led you wrong? Please reconsider, If you still feel strongly about it, I will modify it.

I am in favor of this. We do not really need to modify this, and it would only get the weaker players out of HARMS way, as Cber suggested, as opposed to getting them out of THE way.

I would like to know if a member could send his fleet to ACS defend and then leave the alliance while not automatically recalling his fleet. Could be of use if that player wanted to contribute while scooting over to our friends house.

Fair enough - we just need to make sure it's communicated to them that it's for their good Razz

Quite right, Dizzy. We would definitely let them know that they had a choice, but that if they did not feel that they were strong enough YET to handle attacks of a certain magnitude that they would benefit by moving over to the neighbors and avoid losing some, if not most, of their defenses and fleet. It can be put in a light that makes it seem most beneficial to them.

Oh, and Dizzy, did anyone ever tell you your avatar looks eerily like a manikin? One of the over-dressed, and probably over-priced plastic bastards with hair sitting in a space-station window grinning at you with this made up arrogance that just makes you think, "Now, why can't my plastic teeth be that perfect?"

heh, JK, but he does look a bit funny, yah?

Im not against this, cber Smile i think it could benefit all of us greatly, and i like the idea. Im concerned about other members leaving because they feel unloved, i dont want to fracture the group friendship we share Smile

Duke, I fail to see how anyone could feel as if we did not care about them by offering them a safe haven in times of war. As a matter of fact, we would even gain an additional fleeter for our own benefit, provided they decided to send him, that is.

"NO" has always been a universal word, and it means NO. Quite possibly the only self-defined word in the known universe, it has no other meaning. On the other hand, "MAYBE" means both less and more than "NO" simply because it is not yet a certainty. It could be this or it could be that, not a guarantee, but also most definitely not a sure negative.

I still say that we go for it and, honestly, anyone who fails to see the fallout shelter for what it is needs to imagine that we are at war with 711 RIGHT NOW. Do you want to sit here and get your ass kicked, or would you rather take yourself, your points and your resources and go to the shelter and wait until your big brothers handle, or get handled by, the situation.

No matter if we win or lose, your status will not have taken a beating, which puts you in a MUCH better position to help those who fought on behalf of the alliance we all treasure. At the very least, you could help some(one) rebuild at least a little of what they lost. Just because you cannot contribute to the fight does not mean that you cannot contribute AT ALL. Some of us simply are not fleeters, myself among those who aren't. I would most likely fly next door and wait out the storm, then come back and see what use I can be to the team.

Yes, it would frustrate me to hear the news of my friends taking a beating, unless we were winning, but you have to realize that there are just some fights you cannot even hope to win, and while the valiant thing to do is to stand and fight for your convictions, this is different. Sometimes it is best to save, and fly to fight another day, when you are bigger.

Sorry, I was thinking it would be clear, obviously only to me!!! haha, I am accepting the alliance with one small exception. If a war is to happen against GTF, I am going to stay in CSG, and not transfer over with the fleeters. I am doing this because I cannot leave this alliance, with good conscience. I trust you all explicitly, but I HAVE to stay. I will support with defenses, and with resource supplies.

Fair doos - whatever you believe is best Smile And yes, I chose that avatar for its unsettling smile. It helps somewhat during negotiation.
